Lindsey Martyn
April Rickard, LMHC, CCTP, brings over 20 years of diverse clinical experience to her role as the Director of Clinical Services at Meta. With a comprehensive background in treating a wide range of populations—youth, adolescents, adults, families, and individuals with co-occurring mental health and addiction disorders—April utilizes a compassionate, person-centered approach to support recovery journeys. Her extensive training includes Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Seeking Safety, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
April has worked across multiple care settings, including emergency crisis intervention in hospitals and services through the Department of Children and Families, the Department of Youth Services, and the Department of Mental Health. Her expertise encompasses support for individuals experiencing challenges such as major mental illness, substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders, eating disorders, and problematic behaviors.
Beyond her professional experience, April has a personal understanding of the impact of mental health and addiction recovery, drawing inspiration and drive from her own family’s experiences. This perspective allows her to provide empathetic and holistic support, not only to individuals in recovery but also to their families navigating the healing process.
In her free time, April enjoys New England’s outdoors, from hiking scenic trails to boating, fishing, swimming, and appreciating nature.
